Pomona Valley Habitat for Humanity is proud to once again partner with our generous title sponsor, Wescom Credit Union, to help a deserving family achieve their dream of homeownership. 2007 marks the second year of our partnership with Wescom in building a home hosted by the Los Angeles County Fair.
With project oversight by Marc Berlanga and our special Faithful Few Crew Leaders ~ Mike Beaugh, Linda Bell, Gil Kersbergen, Steve Lewis, Tim McKee, Steve Millang, Jack Reardon, Howard Towne, and Virgil Welch, more than 250 Wescom employees and members, many PVHFH volunteers and additional volunteers from Chaffey College, Hall & Foreman, and a special City Manager Crew, will help build our home alongside the Guerra Family through stages of framing, roofing, rough plumbing, rough electrical, and some rough drywall.
Many thanks to all of the Volunteer Ambassadors who handled the many questions from interested fairgoers.
The first phase of the 2007 home began with a wall raising ceremony on
opening day of the Fair, September 7, 2007, in the new “Habitat for Humanity” park. The build continued through the last day of the
fair and in January 2008, the home was moved to its permanent site in the City of
Fair visitors enjoyed a tour of the home during the last two days of the Fair.
