Design and Contruction Committee:
Purpose: Represents realtors, architects, engineers, city planners, building inspectors, crew leaders,
and materials procurers as they work on design and construction activities conforming to construction forecast plans. The committee
works closely with the PVHFH President/CEO in acquiring land for projects, chiefly in feasibility of the site for Habitat use and
DDA (disposition and development) agreements. Members will develop site and house designs in coordination with the various City and
Family Partners Committee:
Purpose: Welcomes prospective homeowners to the Habitat family. Interacts regularly to support
and encourage the family as they earn sweat equity. Provides opportunities for homeowner to develop skills for successful home
ownership, i.e., knowledge of financing, mortgages, budgeting, home maintenance. Members assist family in accessing any needed social
services. Serves as advocate for the family and serves as a liaison with Habitat. The committee meets at 9:30
AM on the first Saturday of each month in Porter Hall at
Family Selection Committee:
Purpose: Responsible for drafting and implementing selection criteria that will find the best and most deserving families for a Habitat home. Each selection is made based on certain criteria including screening applications and financial documents, interviewing prospective families and performing home visits. The first contact potential homeowners have with Pomona Valley Habitat for Humanity is through the Family selection Committee. Once an applicant has been chosen and approved as a homeowner, the committee will introduce the family to their Family Partner Committee member and begin the selection process again. ReStoreCommittee:
Purpose: Create and overview the operation of a ReStore operation in
Marketing and Special Events Committee:
Purpose: Involves a wide variety of opportunities to encourage individuals and organizations
to place Pomona Valley Habitat for Humanity on their list of organizations to support. Plans and supports special events, uch
as the Celebrating Partnerships Gala. Also creates media releases, newsletters, marketing collateral pieces, and more that put
the spotlight on Habitat’s affordable housing successes in the
Student Special Events Committee:
Purpose: Brings together high school and college students to create fundraising programs and events
to assist with fund development for Pomona Valley Habitat for Humanity. The committee will meet once a month to discuss ideas for
fundraising events, publicity, community outreach, and recruitment of their fellow students. We are seeking student leaders to help

Volunteer Committee:
Purpose: Provide Community Outreach to find and inform volunteers about Pomona Valley Habitat for Humanity. Help
volunteers find projects that will be fulfilling to themselves and the organization. Help volunteers “grow in Habitat” by offering
meetings and training on a variety of topics. Recognize the many ways volunteers help achieve our goals. We especially need: trainers;
event planners; construction support help; people willing to reach out and ask for support; and your ideas about supporting our many
valuable volunteers. The committee meets on the first Thursday of each month at 1:30 PM in the PVHFH La Verne office. Click here to
